Who doesn’t love a little spa day? For those of us in the East Bay, I give a shout out to my favorite spa…Willow Stream at the Sonoma Fairmont. It’s less than an hour drive if you plan to stay out of commute traffic. And trust me, when you get there, you will feel like you are miles away from the daily grind. Everyone at Willow Stream contributes to making your spa day a memorable one.
Let’s start with the Bath House. This ritual is rejuvenating, relaxing, detoxifying, and everything in between. You start with a grape seed exfoliating shower, then you move into a warm mineral pool bath. From there, the temperature rises as you sit in the heated whirlpool jacuzzi. But before you get ‘overheated’ there is a cold walking shower and water tub (which is cold…and I mean cold….)! Following your cool down, there’s still a dry sauna and a wet sauna to enjoy, not to mention the outdoor mineral pools and the awesome nap room. You heard that…a nap room!!
The spa treatments are also top notch. I seriously recommend the relaxation massage, the lavender bath and wrap, and any of the facials. There is a quiet room with nuts and snacks…and lots of water to keep you hydrated (or if you’re like me, order some champagne because it’s spa day, after all!).
During the summer months, lunch is served poolside. There are two pools, both featuring mineral water. The wastu pool is warmer and therapeutic and the main pool is closer to the Bath House.
Give your body the reward it deserves and book a day at Willow Stream. You won’t regret it!
